Cassandra Kopelson is the gorgeous and popular first-year surgical intern and who just happens to be Emily’s high school nemesis.
She had a sick brother in high school, which made her life difficult. It is known she used to be jealous of Emily's smarts, which is why she bullied her in high school.
Early life[]
Not much is known about Cassandra's early life, other than the fact that she bullied many in her school days. We do know that her brother had a disability, and in S1E01 she explains that she could never have friends over because of it. However, later in the season she references how she had more of a social life than Emily ever did. We also know that Cassandra beat Emily in a spelling bee in elementary school.

- In a competition to assist Dr Bandari on the next cholestectomy (gallbladder removal) Cassandra won against Emily through an act of sabotage. Once in the OR she was assigned to make the first cut, however her nerves got the better of her and Dr Bandari had to step in.
- She refers to Dr Bandari as Gina, although it is unknown if she addresses Dr Bandari in this manner.
